On 18th April the results of Gateway&Partners research of the deposit system was presented at a press conference organized by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the largest Latvian business association. The research introduced a compulsory beverage packaging deposit system, as well as on the impact on the Latvian economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to get the best results, the study also analyzed the introduction of a deposit system in other European countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introducing a deposit system for beverage packaging in Latvia, it would bring about 15-19 thousand tons of beverage packaging, which is only 6% of the total packaging placed on the market, accounting for less than 1% of all waste collected in Latvia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project execution helped to indicate the most crucial and missing elements in the deposit system and left the place to come up with new and innovative solutions in waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
