From 7-8 April, a delegation of 10 companies from the Ukrainian Railway and Transport Industry visited Riga, participating in a two-day event hosted by Gateway&Partners and the Entrepeneurship and Export Promotion Office of Ukraine, which was organized with the support of EU4Business and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ ).
On April 7, Ukrainian companies visited the office of SIA ”Eiropas Dzelzceļa Līnijas” and the construction site of Rail Baltica Riga station to learn more about the project and potential cooperation opportunities, as well as visited the JSC ”Pasažieru vilciens” wagon depot in Zasaulauks to see the new ViVi brand trains and their repair and maintenance facilities.
On April 8, a seminar on the potential for cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia and a panel discussion “Beyond Borders: Transforming Supply Chains” took place at the Radisson Blu Conference Riga, with the participation of Kristīne Malnača, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport for Rail Baltica issues, Patriks Markēvičs, Director of the Railway Department of the Ministry of Transport and Oleksii Grushetskyi, Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Business and Export Promotion Office for export promotion issues. In the second half of the event, a B2B networking session was held, during which 10 Ukrainian companies individually met with 30 Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian companies, and a total of 100 individual meetings took place during the day.
